About Lisa Allen Lybrand
Many people have a favorite motif or animal—and some even express that passion by collecting art and household objects that reflect that theme.
But Lisa Allen Lybrand was in a long-necked league of her own.
A self-proclaimed introvert, Lisa never sought the spotlight (though, as anyone who knew her could attest, she had the gift of gab and could make friends with a mailbox). Yet, the moment someone new stepped into her home—whether a guest at one of the Lybrands’ lively holiday parties, book clubs, game nights, or neighborhood block parties—Lisa was eager to share her beloved "menagerie" with anyone who showed a genuine interest. And for what it’s worth, that was just about everyone who caught wind of it.
Lisa’s passion for giraffes was more than a collection—it was her way of expressing herself and connecting with the world. In that spirit, we invite you to experience The Lisa Allen Lybrand Memorial Collection and take joy in it just as Lisa always intended.

Wife, mother, friend, and "Gigi"
The GH front porch was Lisa's sanctuary and her connective lifeline to the outside world during the pandemic, especially as Lisa's health began to falter due to chemotherapy treatments. Lisa could often be seen waving to neighbors and friends from her comfortable "perch" on the front porch.
The Giraffe House has always been a private residence and Lisa's most safe and cherished space. As she succumbed to terminal cancer, getting "home" to be with her family (which included being among "The Herd") was an important priority for the Lybrands.
